• Initial NDIS Appointment

    Your first appointment:

    Initial 90 minute goal setting and information gathering session with an Occupational Therapist.

    $290.98 for 90 minute session (90 mins face-to-face session time). The initial session includes short summary and therapy plan which is billed at 45 mins ($145.49).

    Cost of initial session including report: $436.47.

    If travel is required for your first appointment, this will be charged separately.

  • Standard therapy session

    Standard therapy sessions are charged at $193.99 per hour. Telehealth sessions are charged at the same rate.

  • Travel

    Travel to/from sessions is charged at the standard hourly rate ($193.99 p/hour).

  • Other

    Other supports, including administration are charged at $193.99 per hour.

    These include:

    • Creation of resources

    • Report writing

    • Information sharing or gathering with other professionals (where required)

    • Administration, completion and interpretation of assessment results

    • Therapy planning or specific therapeutic research (where required and agreed upon between parties)

Payment Methods:

Rainbow Days Occupational Therapy offers the following payment methods:

NDIS: NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan managed. Please let your therapist know the details of your plan manager.

Private paying:

Clients can pay privately using their own money or may be eligible for partial support from their private health fund. Please check with your health insurer if Occupational Therapy is covered.

Payments accepted via direct transfer, credit/debit card and cash.

Fees for private paying clients are:

$193.99 per hour, and are the same as the gazetted NDIS rate for Occupational Therapy.

Full payment is expected at the time of the appointment.

Please contact the clinic if you are a private paying client who is experiencing financial hardship.

Medicare: Chronic Disease Management Plan

A Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) (formerly known as an EPC – Enhanced Primary Care Plan) entitles a client with a chronic/complex medical illness a referral for up to 5 session per calendar year with a range of allied health professionals as determined by your GP, and may include: Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology.

A CDMP can be accessed through a GP.

The fee for a CDMP Medicare session with Rainbow days Occupational Therapy is:

Fee: $181.90 Benefit: $58.00 = total out of pocket cost of $123.90

This can be processed by the clinician at our clinic using our HICAPS machine, processing your rebate instantly. Alternatively, clients may be invoiced and can claim via Medicare online.

Medicare: Item 135 - Helping children with Autism (Medicare item only)

Medicare item 135 is a Medicare plan activated by a Paediatrician. This service is often activated by a Paediatrician when a Neurodevelopmental diagnosis has just been made, and patients are awaiting NDIS funding.

“The intention of this service is to provide access to treatment, through the development of a treatment and management plan by a paediatrician, for individuals diagnosed with a complex neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD). The development of the treatment and management plan, follows a comprehensive medical assessment, and provides the opportunity to refer to eligible Allied Health practitioners for up to a total of 20 MBS treatment services per patient’s lifetime.”
